We have several projects in the works at the farmhouse that will directly benefit the animals by creating more natural habitats that are safe spaces free from predators. - Roo Yard:

Aviary Repairs and Renovations
One such project we are currently working on is our Aviary renovation. We have an existing two story aviary that is in need of repairs and renovations. The goal is to allow free flight time for the birds that live in smaller cages within the aviary and make the structure predator resistant to keep the birds, chickens & fish safe as well as making it efficient for the volunteers to keep the area clean. We will be adding hardware cloth over the entire roof and top 2/3 rd’s of the buildings existing chain link side walls as well as repair and replace damaged wood planks around the bottom 3′ of the enclosure. This will help to keep predators out and the smaller birds in. Inside the aviary we need to add drainage and build up the floor to help alleviate standing water when it rains, repair a sink in the hand washing station and add a secondary safety gate/entrance as well as replace the inline pump on the pond which is home to many Koi. We will be adding an area of sod and edible plants too. Total cost for renovation materials is $4300.00. All of the labor is donated by some of our board members and volunteers.
