Danny was our first rescue. He was once a barrel racer who was retired after injuring his hind leg. His leg gives him a bit of trouble now and then but he still enjoys the occasional ride as well as grazing and hanging out with his pasture mate, Valentine.
-
Valentine came to the sanctuary a little different than the rest. She was adopted into our family as a pasture mate for Danny who was missing his old friend Con who passed a couple years ago. She came from a wonderful non profit horse rescue who saved her from a neglectful situation. She has no top teeth due to excessive cribbing before she was rescued but it hasn’t slowed her down any...she eats like a horse.

Dakota's came to us January 2020. His family was going through a rough patch with their future being uncertain due to the father's illness and not being able to work for several months. Dakota is approximately 26 yrs old & was neglected before his family took him in. He had severe issues with his teeth and underweight. We are working on correcting these issues for him
-
Buddy came to us with his friend Casper from a traveling circus. Although he likes children, neither Buddy nor Casper were fond of being pony ride ponies. Buddy is prone to allergies and has allergy med that he takes daily to keep his ears from getting itchy. He is unique in that he has one blue and one brown eye.
-
Casper and his best friend Buddy came from a traveling circus to join the sanctuary. He doesn’t see well out of his left eye which makes him a bit jumpy and skiddish when you first approach him. He and Buddy are always getting into mischief whether it is rolling in the mud or getting covered with hitch hikers after a good brushing. These two are inseparable.

Coming soon! Baby boy will be arriving from Georgia soon to watch over his little goat friends
-
Bacon came to us in January 2020. He is about 8-9 month old potbelly pig that thinks he is a dog. His family realized that he needed more than they could give him as a house pig
-
Rory is staying with us through a foster program. Sometimes pet parents need a temporary place for their furry or feathered family members. When space allows we offer temporary stays at the Farmhouse
-
Taylor came in to rescue because her 3 year old special needs little "mama" became very sick and her family couldn’t keep her. She had been an indoor pig and didn’t want her feet to touch the grass. Once she got used to it she never wanted to go back inside. She had a princess outfit and special blanket that she would cover herself with in her crate. Taylor loves belly rubs and will sit for her dinner.
-
Snickers came to us with Thor from a loving family who were not able to care for them any longer due to a life change.
-
Boomer (aka Boom Boom) was an oops baby born at the sanctuary. We had been told his Mama was "fixed" but found out she wasn't. His mom was one of our very first goats to come live with us and his dad was a fainting goat. Luckily he didn't inherit his dad's fainting gene. Boomer is a very friendly goat.
-
Thor came to us with Snickers from a loving family who were not able to care for them any longer due to a life change.
-
Trace came into rescue with several other goats from a person who had been ill and unable to care for them. They were all very sick when they came in and not all of them made it. Trace still has issues with bloat from time to time but he is the most lovable happy goat...who doesn't realize he is a goat.
-
Ming was one of the little girls that came into rescue with Trace. She is the shyest and calmest of the goats.
-
Some animals end up in rescue just because they are misfits. Nickel is one such goat. Don't let his small size fool you, he was (and still is) a trouble maker and a bully. He doesn't care much for interaction with people but he is coming around.
-
Marina was one of the little girls who came in with Ming and Trace. You would never know by looking at her today how sick she was when they arrived into rescue a few years ago.
-
Savannah was one of the little girls who came in with Ming and Trace. You would never know by looking at her today how sick she was when they arrived into rescue a few years ago.
-
Nosey came to us in October 2019 at about 7 to 8 months old. She was rescued from a bad situation by a well meaning family. They took her home, kept her safe and helped her to grow for several months. They realized she would be happier in a herd of her own kind with room to run and play and be a real goat.
-
The Ninja Tortoises were oops babies. It was thought that the two adult tortoise were both males. Surprise one was a female
-
Frankie came to us from NC where his mom rescued him. She was looking for a home in a warmer climate where he could have more space to wander when she found us.
-
Emi came to us in February 2020 after she was found wondering around Carrolwood for more than six months with an arrow through her neck. It took a village to finally catch her, remove the arrow, rehab her and get her here where she will spend the rest of her life safe in our aviary enjoying the pond.
-
Daisy became part of the Farmhouse family in the spring of 2019. She came to be a playmate for a very lonely Winnie who had lost her mom early spring.
-
Winnie came to us with her mother Mama when their military family who had been stationed at MacDill for 10 years where given a new assignment up north. Unfortunately the housing did not allow pets.
-
Yoda is about 4 years old and is an Indian Ringneck who loves to cry like a cat and mimic the car alarm
-
Sugar came to us this past spring along with his sister Storm from The FWC exotic pet amnesty program. Sugar's beak was broken and he was having an issue eating. He has since healed and is eating perfectly now. He is still a bit leary of humans but we are working on that.
-
Storm and her brother Sugar came to us through the FWC exotic pet amnesty program . She was a shy bird at first but has come a long way since being at the sanctuary
-
Snowflake came into rescue in April of 2019 with 8 other rabbits, most of whom have been adopted. She is going to stay and be a part of our Hand, Hooves & Paws children's program.

The marsupials came to us from a sanctuary that was closing, where we had once been caretakers. They specialized in caring for wild & exotic animals and over the years received many babies, mostly from Texas, that needed to be hand raised or they would have died. A few were born at their sanctuary as well. They will now live out their lives with us at the Farmhouse.
-
Powder first came into her prior sanctuary with a number of issues. She had lost part of her tail and was sunburned but as you can see she is healthy and happy now.
-
Rosebud is the sweetest of girls. She has always had a neurological "shake" but it doesn't slow her down.
