Like many in Florida, over a year later, we are still cleaning up and repairing after Ian. It will be years before we can repair all the damage. The Ian recovery fundraiser will help us repair the extensive damage sustained by Ian while memorializing your loved one or beloved pet in our “Walk of Fame” walkway. The hurricane caused an estimated $80,000+s in damage at the sanctuary, blowing down 90% of the perimeter fence, including 307 LF of fence along the front of the property that we had not planned to replace. This section of fence was previously replaced 5 years ago after Irma blew through. In addition most of the 4×4’s holding up the fence were snapped off at ground level. Our original goal to replace the fence was $30,000 including donated fence panels. We are now looking at an additional $25,000 to complete the fence project due to the donated panels not being available at this time. What was to be a long term project has now become an urgent need to keep the animals safe and secure!

The funds raised during the Adopt-A-Fence Fundraiser in 2022 are being used to replace 269 8′ sections of fence, including rotting and hurricane damaged 4×4 posts. The estimated total cost to replace the fence was quoted at $60K to $65K using 8′ high stockade fence or metal sheeting. A local business Old School Site Prep & Land Maintenance, has committed to donating some repurposed telephone poles, that have been cut with a flat back, to create a very unique, sturdy and long-lasting fence. With your help we raised $30,000 to purchase 4×4 posts, cross braces, screws, Thank you!
