Every so often we like to feature a person who we consider to be a “HomeGrown Hero”. What makes a HomeGrown Hero? Someone who gives back to their community, who has the desire to help others and finds a way to do just that! Tiffany Howard-Webb is the founder of Rescue of the Week Flash Sales. Each week she hosts an online fundraiser for different 501c3 rescues and sanctuaries. Tiffany tells us she looks for rescues that tend to fall the cracks and need the most help, the under dogs or smaller rescues. She shows us that helping those in need can be done virtually too! We asked Tiffany to share a little about herself.
What is the most rewarding part of what do you?
Helping animals! I absolutely LOVE any and all animals. It fills my heart with so much joy to be able to lend a helping hand ANYWHERE, not just local, to animals in desperate need of extra funding.
Why is what you do important to the community?
I think what I do is important because it helps so many rescues with extra funding WITHOUT the rescue having to put ANY funds into the event. My services are 100% Free to the rescues I host for.
Does anyone else, family or friends help with your giving project?
Not at this time. I tend to work better on my own as I am very particular on how I set my events up and I hand pick each item for the events.
Outside of your community service, do you work?
I actually own three home based businesses as well as work for an amazing Company! I own “Personalize Nation”. I offer custom items such as Keychains, Jewelry, Purses, & more! The 2nd business I own is “S.A.B Leggings & More”. I offer BUTTERY SOFT leggings at amazing prices. Last but not least, I am a rep for Tran·Scend. We offer amazing CLEAN Makeup, skincare, hair Care, vitamins, & so much more! And obviously, I also own “Rescue Of The Week Flash Sales“!
What other hobbies do you enjoy?
As far as hobbies go, I love word puzzles, watching movies with my family, board games, listening to music and poetry
What pointers would you share with someone who is thinking of becoming a volunteer or wanting to give back to their community?
Follow your heart! Volunteer for a cause that is near and dear to you.
If you could ask for one thing to help your cause(s) what would it be?
To spread the word! I host flash sales each week for different Rescues in need. There are so many rescues that Need help that I haven’t even been introduced to yet! If anyone owns a 501c3 or knows someone who does, please have them contact me! I am always looking to help animal rescues in need and spread the love. Tiffany can be reached at email@example.com
