Meet Our Community Sponsors: Forever Souls

Did you know that FANS has the support of local businesses through our community sponsors program? These local business owners, who pride themselves on giving back to the community, help make it possible for us to care for the animals through their in-kind and monetary donations. We thought it would be fun to get to know them a little better. From time to time, we will share a new community sponsor’s profile.

Meet Elissa Bentsen, owner of Forever Souls

Elissa started her business in 2008 after seeing a need for alternative therapy and healing. She realized, as a former psychotherapist, that not everyone responded to the traditional approach of Western Medicine. Elissa tells us she wanted to fill a gap and give people other options for healing, “The mind, body and soul have an awareness that goes beyond limited traditional approaches.” When asked what is the most rewarding part of what you do, Elissa responded “I love seeing the positive changes in the people I work with. The most rewarding feedback is to hear a client say, the work has changed their lives. I am so fortunate to hear that often.” When not helping others, she enjoys gardening, swimming in her heated pool., making beaded jewelry and collecting antique beads.

What is it your business offers?

I am a board certified hypnotist specializing in Past Life and Life Between Life Regression. I have studied with the pioneer in this field, psychiatrist and author, Dr. Brian Weiss. My research and training in energy healing has proven that the body is energy and responds to energy, I look for the underlying energy imbalances in our energy centers to clear out anything that holds back higher function of mind, body and soul.

Is anyone in your family a part of your business?

I am a sole healer in my practice. Unless you are spiritually attuned to help from departed souls, then you might understand that one of those souls is my daughter who works with me from the Astral plane.

What pointers would you share with someone who is considering starting their own business?

Be sure you love what you do and it satisfies your soul. Then do it with everything you’ve got and trust your intuition.

If you could ask for one thing to help FANS, what would it be?

Donate to FANS to help them provide for all the animals and give them the best care possible.

On a final note, Elissa added: “Don’t let fear limit you. Take care of yourself because nobody can do a better job than you can. Speak up for justice even if it feels like no one is listening. Pray and meditate to stay in touch with your higher self.”
